ok, this was actually my first try at the cluster stitch beret, but I used a 5 mm hook and wasn't happy with the size of the crown or the drape of the fabric.. too firm for a beret, not slouchy enough. instead, I doubled up the yarn to stitch a bill and made it a newsboy cap! I love the texture of this stitch!

it's cold and rainy out today so I spent the morning working on my new beret design, something with some texture. here's the prototype in Red Heart Soft color Grape.. a fun color that got me thinking about spring.
